Hannover International Piano Competition 2026

The Online Competition is part of the official selection process for the Hannover International Piano Competition 2026. Giving opportunities for competitors who are not from a city where the preliminary round is held.

Important Dates
  • Application Opens: January 15, 2026

  • Application Deadline: June 15, 2026

  • Competition Result Announcement: June 15-30, 2026

Categories Offered

All competition categories listed on the official Hannover International Piano Competition website are available in the Online Competition, including:

  •  Open Categories

  •  Professional Categories

Please refer to the official category descriptions and repertoire requirements for detailed information.​

Competition Format
  • Each piece must be recorded in one continuous take (no editing within a piece).

  • Cuts between different pieces are allowed.

  • The video must clearly show the performer’s hands, keyboard, and pedals.

  • The performance must be memorized unless otherwise stated in the category rules.

  • Video links must remain accessible until results are announced (YouTube unlisted / Vimeo ).
     

Results & Advancement
  • Results will be announced by the end of June

  • Selected participants will receive invitations to advance to the Global Final Round

  • Certificates and awards will be mailed according to competition regulations

Important Notes

  • The organizer reserves the right to adjust scheduling, jury assignments, and competition arrangements if necessary

  • Participation in the Online Competition does not guarantee advancement to the Global Final
