
COMPETITION RULES
In order to ensure the fairness of the competition, the competition decided to adopt a "three-point" model, dividing the groups according to stage, age, and form into open group, professional group and team group.
CATEGORIES AND REPERTOIRE GUIDELINES

All contestants must perform from memory.

If a contestant exceeds the time limit, the judges or staff have the right to terminate the performance; this will not affect the scoring.

Except for repetitions in the score itself, any repetitions marked with repeats will not be performed. Sonatas are limited to one movement.

Contestants must complete and accurately fill out all sections on the registration form and guarantee their authenticity. Contestants are responsible for their own repertoire entries. The organizing committee assumes no responsibility or obligation to verify the repertoire of any entrant. Incomplete or false registration information will be deemed invalid, and the organizing committee reserves the right to disqualify the entrant without any liability.

The judges reserve the right to withhold a score for any incorrect registration information (including but not limited to age, category, repertoire, or if the repertoire does not meet the repertoire requirements). The entrant will bear all responsibility.

In accordance with the competition organizing committee's requirements and out of respect for the artist, all contestants are requested to wear formal attire. The organizing committee reserves the right to disqualify any contestant found to be disheveled.

Contestants are allowed to move up to a higher category within their capabilities and receive a certificate for that category. Contestants in the Professional category are not eligible to register for the Open category. Otherwise, the judges reserve the right to terminate the contestant's performance or not score the contestant. The contestant is solely responsible for any consequences.

Judges may interrupt a contestant's performance within the time specified in the regulations, but this will not affect the contestant's performance.

During the qualifying rounds and the finals, one parent is allowed to accompany each contestant. Contestants and their parents must promptly exit the venue after their group finishes. Due to limited seating, parents must follow the staff's instructions and adhere to the competition regulations.

Accompanying parents may record audio or video of their contestant's performance. Flash photography is prohibited within the competition venue. The organizing committee will arrange for staff to record the performance, but the organizing committee assumes no responsibility or obligation to provide video footage for the contestants or accompanying parents. Parents accompanying the contestants must turn off their phones or turn them to silent mode, refrain from making noise, and remain away from the venue until the contestants have finished performing. The audience may applaud after the contestants have finished performing.

The jury's decision is final, and no one may raise questions or appeal.

Participants are responsible for all transportation, accommodation, and meal expenses. 13. Once registered, no refunds will be given, and no transfers will be made to another person unless caused by the organizing committee.

If any participant's registration information is false, the organizing committee will immediately disqualify the participant upon discovery.

Participants must arrive 30 minutes prior to the scheduled time for the competition. Rescheduling is not permitted. Failure to arrive within the scheduled time will be deemed a forfeiture of the competition, and all fees will be forfeited.

The organizing committee reserves the right to photograph, record, videotape, and media coverage of the competition, concert, and other events. Participants may also use their likenesses free of charge for promotional materials, videos, and other promotional materials. Registration constitutes consent.

Participants are advised to monitor the competition's official WeChat account. Competition-related information, including but not limited to competition times and venues, will be posted on the official WeChat account. The organizing committee will not notify participants separately. Completion of the contestant registration is equivalent to acceptance of the provisions of the Hannover International Piano Competition Regulations. The competition organizing committee reserves the final right of interpretation of the regulations.

If force majeure factors such as war, epidemics, or earthquakes prevent the competition from proceeding, the organizing committee reserves the right to adjust the competition time or format and assumes no responsibility.

Competitors and their accompanying companions should be aware that the competition may cause them psychological stress and emotional fluctuations, and should be fully prepared for this. Any physical or mental illness that prevents them from adapting to such circumstances will be the sole responsibility of the competitor and accompanying companion, and the organizing committee assumes no liability.

The organizing committee reserves the right of final interpretation of these rules. Any changes after publication will be subject to the latest official announcement from the organizing committee.
